Dinner from Last Night--Chicken Mole

Harlock tried his culinary skill with some chicken mole last night. I've always loved the taste of chicken and chocolate together so I was looking forward to the dish. This is actually Harlock's second attempt at the recipe and far more successful than his first.

It was fabulous. The chicken was well seasoned and moist and the chocolate sauce had a nice spice and presence to it that did not overwhelm the entire dish.

The First Fourth in Sarasota

This Fourth was the first for my boyfriend and I in Sarasota. We didn't really have any plans for the night so we just watched Hoarders, Harlock worked on Horgoth and I read. Around 9 we decided to take a walk to see what, if anything, we could see from Centennial Park which is just right down the road from us.

Walking down Tamiami Trail we saw the first burst and decided to stake claim on a median and watch the show. There were a lot of other people lining the streets to watch. It made for a nice scene; the busy street with the lights and the passing cars.

It was a nice evening, ending with a nice show.

The City Bus on a Dark and Stormy Night

If I ever get presented with the opportunity to retake this shot and I'm hoping I will and soon, I'll be outside with my camera, tripod, and bus schedule ready to shoot. I like the idea but this execution could be better. It was a spur of the moment shot when I was outside trying to capture lightening during a recent storm.

I wasn't using a fast lens and not prepared to shoot a bus speeding by in the rain. Next time though, always next time.
