Sailor and Nurse

When I was a kid and absolutely fascinated by World War II, still am, I saw that famous photograph of the sailor and nurse kissing in Times Square. It looked just so romantic and passionate filled with such raw emotions that it really made an impact on me.

In front of Marina Jacks in Sarasota is a 26 foot tall statue replica of this famous kiss. It's fantastic to see it with the bay as a backdrop.

I've been dying to take a picture of the statue ever since I moved to Sarasota. I found myself at the marina during my photo walk and was pretty happy to see the looming figures. I took  a few pictures but the above shot is my favorite.
